Mental health concerns for teens are at an all time high. To help our students, Macon FCCLA has partnered with Mark Twain Behavioral Health to offer ¨Teen Talk¨, a no pressure, group meeting open for all high school students. Held twice monthly, the meetings educate students with coping skills and resources, but most importantly provide an outlet for for student discussion and build support systems. The chapter is focusing their year on building a school community and showing students to have empathy and compassion for others.
The human trafficking industry is a horrible system that is increasing at an extreme rate. The current estimate of human trafficking victims globally is 40.3 million victims. The average age of entry into the human trafficking industry is 12-14 years old. These are absolutely intolerable statistics and something must be done. Since teens are most targeted North Shelby FCCLA members have made it their goal to place prevention posters within high schools in Missouri to help inform students. We hope, like us, you see the importance of these posters and are willing to work with us on accomplishing our goal. Please feel free to print out the poster and hang it in your school!
